Under His Care: Flora

I just *love* plants, trees, flowers and gardens.

I can thank my father for that passion in my life. He would purchase a new home, freshly built, and would put in grass, trees, shrubs and the plants he liked. Surrounding their pool, would be banana trees, hibiscus and any other Hawaiian or tropical plant that he could convince to grow there.

Hibiscus are one of my favorite flowers!

Butterfly bushes are another favorite!

My two little plants have grown by leaps and bounds this summer; they are already attracting butterflies! Yay!

And of course the real deal...... roses!

I always try to find ones that smell heavenly,

though now and again, I do pick one for its color only!

Gotta have the Yellow Rose, after all we are in Texas!!

Look at this wonderful picture my daughter took!

These Bachelor Buttons have become a new favorite.

They quickly grow and just pour out of the pot that they are in.

It is such a welcome sight, especially in the dead heat of the summer.

Every year they return and bless us with more blooms.

They have even taken to growing amongst the grass! My son is so careful to mow around them, for who doesn't enjoy the bright splashes of color amongst the emerald green lawn!!
